Guascor is an Engine manufacturer building engines since 1966. Their sets are known to be rugged and very reliable. They are in operation as both Industrial and Marine sets. Recently (mid 2005) Fidel Castro, President of Cuba, signed a contract with Guascor to supply 450 sets to Cuba for remote site isolated operation. The ruggedness and reliability of the engine was the deciding factor.

Guascor engines are manufactured in Spain. The weather conditions are quite similar to those in India. It is for this reason that the engine is very successful in Bangladesh & Pakistan.

Quantity of Lube oil consumption & lube oil change is less compared to other engines because of small sump capacity.

The major part of Guascor range (from 250 KW to 800 KW ) has a very high interchangeability of parts. It ensures that the spares are easily available.

The rate of de-ration on the engine is lowest compared to any other make of engine. 1 % for every 5C rise in temperature above 25 C. Considering that the average temperature round the year is around 35 deg C, the de-ration is only 2 %. Considering the above you do not need any ventilation equipment thereby reducing the capital cost as well as the parasitic load on the sets.

The sets offered can easily be overhauled in India unlike the other makes of engines whereby the half block assembly has to be imported.
